Which investment is right for me?
Which investment could be right for me?
The types of investments that could be suited to you can depend on factors such as how long you’ve got to invest, and the level of investment risk you feel comfortable with.
It's a long road from your first job until retirement, and your super investments need to be flexible enough to suit any changes in your circumstances. With nine investment options to choose from, we think you'll find something that suits your needs.
-
Growth (MySuper)
Our Growth (MySuper) option is our default investment option for our FutureSaver members (it’s the one you’ll be invested in if you don’t make a specific investment choice when you first join VicSuper). This option has a target allocation to growth assets of 75% and is suited to those with a high tolerance for risk and a seven-year plus investment time frame.
-
Equity Growth
Our Equity Growth option has a target allocation to growth assets of 88% and invests in a range of Australian and overseas investments with a strong bias towards capital growth. It is best suited to those with a high tolerance for risk and a ten-year plus investment time frame.

Socially Conscious
The Socially Conscious option is designed for members who want greater certainty about the environmental and social impact of their investments by avoiding particular industries and companies that don’t align with their values. For FutureSaver and Flexible Income with the Transition to Retirement feature, the option’s risk/return profile is aligned with the Growth option via a 75% target allocation to growth assets. For Flexible Income without the Transition to Retirement feature, the option is aligned with the Balanced option with a lower target allocation to growth assets of 57%.
-
Balanced
Our Balanced option has a target allocation to growth assets of 57% and it is best suited to those with a medium tolerance for risk and a five-year plus investment time frame.
-
Capital Stable
Our Capital Stable option invests mostly in fixed income and cash with a target allocation to growth assets of 38%. It is best suited to investors with a low to medium tolerance for risk and a four-year plus investment time frame.
-
Capital Secure
The Capital Secure option invests predominantly in income generating assets such as cash and fixed income (eg bond) investments, with a target allocation to growth assets of just 25%. It is best suited to those with low tolerance for risk and a three-year plus investment time frame.
-
Australian Shares
Our single asset class Australian Shares option is a passively managed option that invests in wide range of companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). With a 100% allocation to growth assets and a very high risk of fluctuating returns, it is best suited to those with a very high tolerance for risk and a ten-year plus investment time frame.
-
Cash
Our Cash option primarily invests in term deposits and other short-term debt securities and may suit investors seeking a very low risk short-term investment with very stable but low expected returns.
-
Term Deposit
Our Term Deposit option is a non-unitised option that provides a fixed rate of return for a specified term by investing in term deposits. This option may suit investors who wish to lock in a fixed rate of return for the selected term of the investment to better plan for short to medium-term cash flow needs.
