  • Michael Dundon headshot

    Michael Dundon

    Chief Executive Officer BEc, FCA
    Michael was appointed Chief Executive of VicSuper in 2011 and is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Fund.

    He works closely with the Executive team and the Board to develop and implement plans and strategies that ensure the Fund continues to meet the needs of members and employers.

    Michael has extensive experience in the banking, finance, insurance and utilities industries and previously held the positions of CEO at ESSSuper and General Manager Finance at TRUenergy Australia Pty Ltd.

    Michael is also a director of VicSuper Ecosystem Services Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of VicSuper that facilitates investment in sustainable agriculture and new markets for ecosystem services.
    Michael was appointed Chief Executive of VicSuper in 2011 and is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Fund.

    He works closely with the Executive team and the Board to develop and implement plans and strategies that ensure the Fund continues to meet the needs of members and employers.

    Sandra was appointed Chief Technology Officer of VicSuper in January 2018. Sandra is responsible for technology strategy, operational systems, and information security across the Fund, supporting and enabling business growth and retention, delivering transformational change to achieve our strategic and operational goals, and enabling business efficiency to deliver value for members.


    Sandra is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in financial services, superannuation, technology and technology-enabled transformational change. Most recently she was the Chief Technology and Security Officer at AustralianSuper, and previously held senior roles at NAB, Goldman Sachs and Tabcorp.

    Sara leads the Marketing team in building member engagement, helping deliver new organic growth and positioning the VicSuper brand. Sara and her team are responsible for VicSuper’s member and employer communications and campaigns, sustainability initiatives, market research, data analysis, digital activity and business development.

    A passionate advocate of member education and the customer experience, Sara has worked in roles across distribution, product management, strategy and marketing for institutions such as AXA/AMP, Esanda Finance, ANZ Funds Management and Plum Financial Services.

    Sam was appointed Chief Financial Officer of VicSuper in December 2017. Sam is responsible for the Finance, Project Management and Fund Operations teams, facilitating greater alignment across the functions and collaboration towards our strategic and operational goals.

    Sam is a qualified accountant with extensive experience in the general insurance, superannuation, legal advice and financial services industries. Most recently he has been working as Chief Financial Officer at the Guild Group (Guild Insurance, Guild Super & Meridian Lawyers) for almost 10 years. Sam previously held senior management and executive roles with the OAMPS Group and Ernst & Young.

    Andrew and the Investment team oversee the investment strategy and operations of VicSuper as approved by the Trustee and Investment Committee.

    The team works closely with the Fund’s investment consultants and external fund managers in managing the Fund’s investments focused on meeting member objectives, along with providing advice to the Trustee and Investment Committee.

    Andrew joined VicSuper in late 2016 as Chief Investment Officer. Andrew has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years with investment roles held within asset consulting, superannuation and funds management. He has previously held the positions of Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific at Mercer, and was Head of Manager Research at Frontier Advisors. Andrew has extensive portfolio management expertise across all asset classes encompassing asset allocation, portfolio design and manager selection.

    Danny has been with VicSuper since 2005 and leads VicSuper’s Legal team, which works to ensure that VicSuper’s legal position is well protected for the benefit of members.

    Danny also acts as the Company Secretary of VicSuper and is a current Australian Legal Practitioner. He has over fourteen years of experience as a commercial lawyer.
    Danny has been with VicSuper since 2005 and leads VicSuper’s Legal team, which works to ensure that VicSuper’s legal position is well protected for the benefit of members.

    Danny also acts as the Company Secretary of VicSuper and is a current Australian Legal Practitioner. He has over fourteen years of experience as a commercial lawyer.

    Joshua joined VicSuper in September 2016 and leads the financial planning, express super advice and business development teams. Joshua and his team are responsible for driving growth and retention by delivering quality financial planning and advice to members and boosting new employer growth in addition to working with the broader business on developing alliance opportunities.

    Joshua has over 15 years experience in the financial services industry including financial advice, compliance, practice management and para planning. He has proven experience at a diverse range of organisations including AXA, RACV and Bank of Melbourne. Most recently he held senior positions at IOOF and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

    Martin Vassallo was appointed Chief Risk Officer of VicSuper on 15 October 2018. Martin works closely with Executive Management and the Board in the effective management and mitigation of the organisation’s risks and meeting all regulatory and legislative compliance requirements. Together with the Risk and Compliance team and in conjunction with the business to oversee the development and deployment of risk and compliance frameworks, reporting and governance in support of VicSuper’s strategic objectives.

    Martin has over 30 years experience in Financial Services, Risk Management, Compliance and Information Security and previously held positions of General Manager, Operational Risk & Compliance nab Business Banking, Chief Risk Officer, Tandem Corporation and Asia Pacific Chief Risk Officer for Fidelity Information Systems. Martin has worked extensively in Australasia, South East Asia, India, US and UK in various senior risk management roles.

    Jo McKennariey joined VicSuper as Executive Manager, People Experience in October 2018. Jo has held a range of executive roles, most recently with Blue Sky Alternative Investments as Interim Chief People Officer and Corporate Affairs Director. Prior to that as Chief of Corporate Affairs & Community at Credit Union Australia.

    Jo brings more than 15 years' experience in executive, leadership and project management roles, with positions across the finance, insurance, retail and government sectors.

    Her experience spans across human resources and corporate affairs. In her role at VicSuper, Jo will work on continuing to build a diverse, inclusive and robust team across the organisation.
